Smoke photography is not easy. You need patience, specific gear and a lot of practice in order to achieve some nice results. The settings to be used are simple enough but that is only 1/5 of the job. It is mostly a question of trial and error. What you will need are:
Try focusing on the smoke by pointing the flashlight on it and shoot away, do not stop to check the screen just shoot. You will check the results later. Realistically from 100 shots you will be keeping only a handful unless you are really lucky of course! Try it out and send us your best results in order to show them here at fstop99.com!
